Ginny Anderson – In Memoriam

GA-12a copy 2

Ginny Anderson, our Executive Director, passed away on January 18, 2021. If you ever had the chance to visit the Kenilworth Historical Society (KHS) over the past 10 years you’d know that the kindness (and humor) that she brought to KHS helped foster a warm environment of learning and a strong sense of community. We at KHS, are so happy to have gotten to know her and to have called her a friend. Her legacy in Kenilworth as well as in each of our lives, will never be forgotten.

Ginny grew up on Cummings Ave in Kenilworth and graduated from Joseph Sears School in 1959. She later joined KHS as a board member in 1991 and became our first Executive Director in 2010! Over the years Ginny helped to contribute dozens of articles on Kenilworth History to the Kenilworth Life magazine and had also been elected treasurer of the Northeastern Illinois Historic Council in 2014. During her tenure as Executive Director at KHS, Ginny worked with several other North Shore history and cultural organizations to found the North Shore History Consortium. These are just a handful of her many accomplishments.

Warmest regards,
